Doug Berndt ARPS

Thank you for visiting my photography site.

I'm an amateur photographer who left the Defence and Aerospace industry after 30 years in a variety of roles. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, I spend much of my time taking photographs. My interest in photography goes back over 40 years and I cut my teeth on film, black & white and colour printing, and transparency development. I have found that digital technology has liberated my photography world. I was awarded the distinction of LRPS from the Royal Photographic Society in November 2012 and ARPS in September 2013 for a panel in the Contemporary category. You can view my successful print panels in the galleries. I am a member of the Royal Photographic Society and Edinburgh Photographic Society, where I am currently Competition Secretary for the Creative Digital Group and a member of Council.

My main photographic interests lie in Landscapes, Travel and Wildlife. I'm also partial to Monochrome images.

My photography gets me out and about and I can often be found with a camera and a "lens of the day" in the Pentland Hills south of Edinburgh. When asked what my best piece of photographic equipment is, I reply "My hiking boots!".

Enjoy my images and let me know your thoughts through the comments form.

Best wishes,
