Doug Berndt LRPS

Thank you for visiting my photography site.

I'm an amateur photographer who left the Defence and Aerospace industry after 30 years in a variety of roles. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, I spend much of my time taking photographs. My interest in photography goes back over 40 years and I cut my teeth on film, black & white and colour printing, and transparency development. I have found that digital technology has liberated my photography world. I was awarded the distinction of LRPS from the Royal Photographic Society in November 2012. You can view my successful print panel in the galleries. I am a member of the Royal Photographic Society and Edinburgh Photographic Society, where I am currently Competition Secretary for the Creative Digital Group.

My main photographic interests lie in Landscapes, Travel and Wildlife. I'm also partial to Monochrome images.

My photography gets me out and about and I can often be found with a camera and a "lens of the day" in the Pentland Hills south of Edinburgh. When asked what my best piece of photographic equipment is, I reply "My hiking boots!".

Enjoy my images and let me know your thoughts through the comments form.

Best wishes,

Doug
